More than €15,000 was raised for a children’s charity at the second Chervò & Hotel Emmy Trophy golf day at St Vigil Seis, one of the most scenic and challenging 18-hole courses in northern Italy.
Each of the 199 competitors received two unexpected, but very much appreciated, gifts from Chervò, with the popular golf clothing brand giving each a Happy Goose jacket and a €100 discount voucher for holiday partner Acentro Turismo.
Many prizes were won in various competitions, including two longest-drive contests and four nearest-the-pin challenges. However, nobody walked away with the day’s top prize, a Tesla Model 3, which was up for grabs for anybody scoring a hole-in-one on the eighth.
Chervò, the popular golf clothing brand, organized the second edition of “Chervò & Hotel Emmy Trophy” together with Hotel Emmy, which is located in Fiè allo Sciliar.
Many celebrities from the worlds of TV and sport turned up at the event including journalist Valerio Staffelli, from the popular Italian TV programme Striscia la notizia, and German actor Fritz Wepper, star of the police series Derrik. Many former skiers were also present including the legendary downhill racer and Olympic gold medallist Franz Klammer, Much Mair, the ‘good giant of skiing’, and Peter Rungaldier, the winner of a Super G world cup.
The prizegiving dinner took place at the charming, four-star-plus Hotel Emmy, in Fiè allo Sciliar, which enjoys breathtaking views. And organisers announced a grand total raised of €16,500, which will be donated in its entirety to the association for children affected by congenital heart disease, Cuore di Bimbo.
A spokesman for Chervò said: “By combining sport, games and entertainment for a good cause, we are proud to say this edition of Trofeo Chervò & Hotel Emmy, on the St Vigil Seis golf course, was a great success.
“It will be a day that will remain in the memory of all of those present, and not only of the winners, who were delighted by their performance and the prizes they received.”
The overall winner – and each of the three category winners – will be invited to participate in the final of the Chervò Next Competition, a 13-leg golf tour, sponsored by Chervò, which will end at the Chervò San Vigilio Golf & Resort Hotel, in Pozzolengo, with a great day of sport and events on October 8.
Winners: Overall – Renè Mussner (GC Eppan); Net category one: Stefano Rondena (GC San Vito); Net category two: Alessandro Podini (GC Jesolo); Net category three: Karl Gurschler (GC Saint Vigil Seis).
