The first edition of the US KIDS VENICE OPEN, an international competition for young people aged between 6 and 18, has achieved huge success amongst audiences and participants. The organisers were forced to close the registrations after 220 players, with a long waiting list.

The tournament was held on 21 and 22 August at Golf Montecchia and Golf Terme di Galzignano, near Padova, ending with a thrilling five hole play-off between America’s Victoria Matthews, Germany’s Philippa Gollan and Russia’s Marta Silcenko.

The defining features of the event, designed to replicate a real Open, was the direct involvement of the players families and the opportunity for children to play from advanced tees created specifically for the event, allowing them to play “in regulation”.

Chervò was a sponsor of the event, providing beautiful gadgets to all the young participants and a discount in the Golf Montecchia Pro Shop.
